I just saw it this morning. WOW. It used to be like Forrest said, "... went together like peas and carrots". Now I guess it's just... peas.

So much for competition. So much for innovation. Here's to meaningless upgrades with few real features.
Sorry. Had to vent. Not a big Adobe fan here.

Well it's a mixed bag. There should be some great advances in compatibility between formats but with the danger of Adobe sewing it up even tighter, prices soaring and all the rest. Gut reaction is lack of competition is a bad thing.
Re: ADOBE TO ACQUIRE MACROMEDIA
I can't see anything good coming from this, now if Paint Shop Pro ( JASC ) would have tried a little harder in the past with getting their product into a wider audience then I'm sure we'd see a parallel universe where there would have been a true product come from this...One with Function and with Filters that worked.
I'm seeing headlines now... " Adobemedia " or "Macrodobe " as ad slogans real soon, oh my gut hurts thinking I'm not going to like Adobe even more.

Re: ADOBE TO ACQUIRE MACROMEDIA
For the life of me I can't imagine why Macromedia agreed to the sale unless the $3.4B price tag spun their heads into dizziness.
I've always been impressed with the forward thinking of MM, as evidenced by their product development. Witnessing Adobe's lackluster product development over the past few years is disappointing.
I'm tired of being asked to pay hundreds of dollars for PS and Illustrator upgrades that offer little more than productivity enhancements such as "droplets" or customizable menus. What about better vector support in Photoshop? Better integration of PS and ImageReady?
Instead, Adobe seems focused on integrating their products with new ones, such as Bridge and their stock photo service.
I can only hope Macromedia's products breathe new life into Adobe and follow their tradition of quality and trendsetting development.
Macromedia...in memoriam.

It is sad for me to hear (from this forum first) that. I dont know why but never simpatized with Adobe. I think their PS and Illustrator are worst then Corel Draw & Photopaint and Freehand & Fireworks.
I dont think that Macromedia will bring new life into Adobe but viceversa, that the old-minded Adobe will fault the teams developing MM's products.
