things are getting messy around here; we have a wide variety of forums for different topics, please do your best to post in the relevant section.

post titles like 'i need help' and 'pleeeeeeeeaassssee help me now' are doing you absolutely no favours - be descriptive.

why does any of this matter?

i've just had to shift ~30 posts in the actionscript 2.0 forum from the last couple of weeks - some of them unanswered

would anyone agree that perchance the reason for not getting an answer is the fact that some of the wonderful people here have better skills/more interest in particular areas of flash design/development and maybe only have the time to check out one or two forums? or that with ten minutes to spare they'll go for the question that has a good descriptive title?

so, a component question entitled 'i need help' posted in the actionscript 2.0 forum - i'll give you 33-1 on you getting an answer this side of christmas - who wants to place their bets?

keeping things tidy increases the effectiveness of the search engine by allowing you to refine your search based on titles and forums; there's nearly two years worth of posts in the db - don't make life harder for yourselves...

I think it's a good idea, and maybe every time someone signs up and within so much time or something, posts a new topic, why don't we just re-direct them to the search page, and make them at least search once before they can post or something, it'll teach people not to be drive-by posters.... (or at the very least, force them to work a little bit before they post?) Of course, if they sign up to reply to a question, that could be instantly allowed.....
I dunno.... I try to help as many people as I can on here, I don't know if I'm doing much of a decent job that I know how to, (if I can't help directly, I at least help them debug why it won't work) However, I find myself seaching the forum everyonce in a while for an answer I just saw no more than 2 weeks ago.

I dunno, what does anyone else think?

What about if when you clicked on new topic it would first redirect to a search page, or something like that. Or iframe it.
