September is the month of the iPod, something every Apple fan knows. The other well known fact of Apple is that they’re not afraid to make prompt changes to their products, even if it means moving the scheduled release date.
Tech experts have been arguing continuously over which date the iPod Touch 5G and the iPhone 5 will launch and the consensus now seems to be early October for both products, and what's more, the free iPod Converter and iPad video Converter will also update to support the newest device. The reasoning could be due to something as simple as better marketing opportunities for the holiday season or more complicated issues such as problems with manufacturing terms and output (Apple is rumored to be having many issues with iPad manufacturers).
Richard Doherty, an analyst at Envisioneering Group says the iPod Touch 5G could also see a massive upgrade as a gaming system; “It will be an even better gaming machine, because games sell better on the Touch than they do on the iPhone.” With many mainstream games now moving to portable gaming devices this could be a huge installment for future gamers looking to play while on the go. No details have been released yet as to what upgrades we could see for gaming purposes but it should be interesting to see what arises between now and October.
